Essential Oils Diffusers
The choice of professionals when it comes to essential oil diffusion. These « nebulizing » diffusers are composed of an air pump on which rests a glass nebulizer whose interior tubing disperses essential oils into a fine mist into the atmosphere. This helps purify, cleanse, ionize and scent the air. Because the essential oils are diffused without heat, they are not altered and preserve all of their therapeutic qualities. This type of diffusion does not use compressed gas, so there is no danger to the ozone layer.
SET-UP:
Gently insert the glass nebulizer into the small black rubber opening on the top of the diffuser. Attach the plastic tubing to the air outputs of the diffuser and attach the other end to the output of the glass nebulizer. For the Optima model, attach the plastic tubing to the air output of the diffuser and attach the other end to the output of the glass nebulizer.
FILLING:
Using a dropper or a small funnel, slowly add the essential oil of your choice into the glass nebulizer being extra careful not to drop any oil on the plastic casing of the diffuser. Do not exceed the level indicated (about
5 ml) otherwise the essential oil could penetrate into the motor and damage it. Avoid tilting the diffuser or moving it if the nebulizer is not empty. Always keep out of reach of children and pets.
USING THE DIFFUSER:
The diffuser can be used 10 to 15 minutes a few times a day. During the wintertime, the diffuser can be used with antiseptic and expectorant essential oils like eucalyptus and lavender. Refreshing and insect repellent essential oils are recommended for the summertime months: citronella, geranium, lemon.
CLEANING:
We recommend that the glass nebulizer be cleaned at least twice a month. Empty any oil left in the glass and add a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Gently shake the nebulizer to let the alcohol enter the glass tubing. Discard the alcohol and set-up the diffuser (see SET-UP).
PRECAUTIONS:
Essential oils are extremely concentrated products. It is VERY IMPORTANT to keep them out of children’s reach and also away from the eyes and other mucous membranes. Use only pure and natural essential oils and do not use essential oils that are thick (resin) or irritating.
